  • Best depiction of life in Shawnee, past, present, or future: Aztec Theater which is re-opening this fall near Johnson Drive and Nieman.
  • Most Patriotic: Johnson County NAACP Unit #4830 with their 14 yard flag which was sewn by members of the organization and displayed on a rolling frame.
  • Best float entered by a business: Bob Hamilton Plumbing, Heating, AC, Rooter, & Electrical with their Rub a dub, dub, Bob in a tub.
  • Best Motorized: Cultivate Kansas City's Urban Grown Farm Tour Truck- 53 Chevy truck advertising Cultivate KC's Urban Farm and Garden tour.
  • Most Unusual: Cross Points Church with their "10,000" balloon float!
  • Green Machine- best use of recycled materials: Waste Management of KC and their use of natural gas in their trucks.
  • Grand Marshal's Award (best depicts theme): Just Around the Corner- showing the uniqueness and diversity of the Shawnee area businesses.
  • Mayor's Award (best overall entry): SMNW Band- Sounded great today and represents one of our local high schools here in Shawnee.
